1909 Shinkle Postcard Auctioned On Ebay
Recently, a "real photograph" postcard by famous Yolo photographer J. C. Shinkle was sold at auction on Ebay.
Shinkle 1909 Postcard
It shows a washed-out Yolo County train track with a group of citizens venturing out on the track to the point of the wash-out. Reproduced here and in Folder 2.4, Shinkle writes the date of February 3, 1909 on the picture and also writes in the comment "Hardly Safe."
An excerpt showing the close-up of the group on the track is also provided in Folder 2.4.
