18 Gold
Went to a qualifying tournament in Anaheim, CA. It was a great tournament, finishing better than Spokane, and we did much better than any of the Power Leagues. Friday we started play at 8 am as the 2nd seed in our pool in a 4 team pool. We first played The Edge 18's and won 26 - 24, and 25 - 17. Our next game against Delta Valley Pink 18's and beat them in a 3 game thriller 25 - 18, 18 - 25, 17 - 15. Our last game against the 1st seed Team Tulsa we lost 12 - 25, 30 - 32. We finished 2nd in our pool, advancing to the Gold Bracket as the 4th seed for Saturday. Saturday we again started play at 8 am. as the 4th seed. Our first game against TCA 18's we lost 16 - 25, 10 - 25. Against San Gabriel 18's 14 - 25, 9 -25, Club Utah 12 - 25, 13 - 25. We finished 4th in our pool which put is in the Flight 1B for Sunday. Sunday we were in a single elimination bracket which put us up against Sierra Nevada 18 - 2 and came out strong. We won our first game 25 - 20, and lost the next two 18 - 25, 15 - 9. It was very unfortunate to lose in the first round however we finished 35th out of 79. All in all the tournament was a better tournament than Spokane. Leah Anderson did a great job going after tough balls, and playing some good defense. Jovonna also had some great digs throughout the tournament. Kayla Birt had a great tournament hitting in the high 700's, and passing nails the entire tournament. I think this tournament again proved improvement and was a great way to enter into our last Power League and The Reno Tournament.
