18-Gold
Improvement was the biggest aspect for the 18-Gold team this weekend after going 1-5. From the first match of the tournament, and to the final match of the tournament the team had significantly improved. Timing was coming together and at the end there were cheers when the play was over. This implies unity which is one of the most important aspects of volleyball. Adaptation, the players were able to adapt to the changes the coaches made on the court, with different players in at different positions players were still able to maintain focus and resume play. As for players themselves Sara Morand had great hitting and leadership on the court, Leah Anderson had great knowledge on the court, utilizing the offense. Jovonna Gonzalez had defense, great digs and great patience on passing. Samantha Falat also had great defense, she was able to get some crazy digs. Danielle Nalley had great passing, while Brittany Younger had great timing and turning. Jenny Woods had good focus and placement of her hits. Noel Reddick had great blocking, knowing where to block, and timing it. Megan Zertuche had great adjustment to the coaches' setting technique, great influence on the court. Brenda Nguyen had good positioning and defense while Amanda Pielstick used great intelligence on the court, as well as great leadership on the court.

Began the tournament seeded at #35 and finished at #38 out of 150 teams. They went 3-2 on the weekend. Olivia James did a great job both in the front row, and serving! She served 8 straight points against CVA on Sunday, 3 of which were aces. Morgan Crosta also gave a fantastic performance in the game against CVA. Hitting on the outside, she had 9 kills on 11 attempts with no errors. Molly O'Hagan had 3 blocks against X-treme on Sunday. She is very aggressive at the net and a tough force to compete against. Meradith Carey set the entire weekend and did a great job for us. She also added 7 aces in the game against the Stingrays! Briana Mason gave up her hands for the weekend in exchange for her passing platform and earned our team 8 digs against CVA. Overall, the coach is very pleased with the team. This was their first tournament of the season, and the girls are already very comfortable with the rotation, serving and passing was very consistent, and without even working on it yet, our blocking was very effective.
