About IAD
Brief description of India Association of Davis
India Association of Davis (IAD)
India Association of Davis (IAD) was established in 1987
to represent the Asian Indian community in Davis. The most
important objectives of the organization are to educate Davis and
neighboring communities about the cultural heritage of India and
promote cross-cultural understanding through various programs. IAD also
provides our children an opportunity to learn our culture and share it
with the local community.
Over the years, IAD has hosted charitable, educational, and cultural
programs. Typically, the membership year starts with the India
Independence Day celebrations, and then we celebrate Diwali, Republic
Day, Holi, and a Summer Picnic. In addition, we go camping in the
summer. The Diwali festivities are the largest public event for Indians
in Davis.
Please become an IAD member today. Make a difference in yours and your
family's lives. Annual membership is valid from September 1st of one year
to August 31st of the following year. Membership dues are very
reasonable: family membership is only $50 annually. Discount rate of
$25 is available for students/scholars and individual members.
Membership helps the association by keeping it active and moving
forward. In appreciation, all members receive periodic newsletters and
discounted tickets to all IAD events. Some events are even free for
members! IAD also provides food and drinks at many events for no
charge.
To sustain IAD, we need the community to take an active part and
volunteer their time and talents. Please contact the IAD
committee members with your ideas or if you are interested in
volunteering for any of the IAD events. Any help is always deeply
appreciated.
