Harmen K. shares a story about moving to Woodland, and missing Davis.

After a weeklong of vacating, my dad would often drop his bags in fatigue and call out "home sweet home!" For six years, it has become a habit of our family to call Davis as our home sweet home. Unfortunately, these six years fell short when my parents announced our big move in September to a more spacious house in Woodland. I immediately started recapping those priceless moments my family and I had shared from previous years living in Davis. Taking the Unitrans bus to and from Harper Jr. High, going downtown to get Dairy Queen on those special "celebrative" days, attending AYSO practices twice a week, living in a bicycle friendly town, buying Kernel Popcorn from the supermarket every Saturday, and so many more memories related to my favorite town will be remembered forever. Good or bad, old times from Davis will be cherished in my heart like a mother loving her child. Now whenever my family will come back from either Lake Tahoe or Reno, my dad will still be saying his usual line, "home sweet home!" Except the difference will be that before our home sweet home was in Davis, and now it will be a house sitting next to the fields in Woodland.
