Hike (2B).  Skyline Park, Napa

Explore the valleys and ridges of Skyline Wilderness Park behind Napa State Hospital. We’ll follow the ridge to Lake Marie, circle the lake, and return on lush Buckeye Trail.  The hike is about 6.5 miles with 1100-ft cumulative elevation gain.   Bring lunch, water, and essentials.  Meet at 8:30 am at the Davis Park and Ride behind Ikeda’s Fruit Stand off I-80 at Mace Blvd in Davis.  No dogs.  Rain cancels.  Leader:  Jim Cramer, 530-756-3973 or cramerjc@gmail.com.

Snowshoe Hike (1A). Along I-80 Corridor

 Snowshoe somewhere along I-80 corridor, depending on snow conditions. Bring $ for sno-park pass, essentials, snowshoes, poles, lunch, water, and dress in layers.  Meet at 9:30 am at Burger King on Lincoln Way in Auburn at Foresthill Exit off I-80.  No dogs.  Winter Storm warnings, chain controls or lack of snow cancels.  Leader: Sue Barnette, sbarnett@dcn.davis.ca.us or 530-753-5855.

Hike (2B). Pierce Falls, Berryessa Snow Mt. NM (Yolano Group)

We’ll wind up through Pierce Canyon on gravel Rd. 53.  The canyon has breathtaking steep cliffs and views of Capay Valley, a nice creek, and beautiful oaks.  Along the way we'll get to a cross-canyon view of the falls.  At road’s end we eat lunch and then return down Rd. 53.  Round trip is about 8 miles with about 1400-foot elevation gain.  Bring lunch, water, and essentials.  Meet at Guinda post office on Hwy 16 at 9:15 am.  No dogs.  Rain cancels.  Leader:  Jim Cramer, 530-756-3973 or cramerjc@gmail.com.

Thursday, January 19

Hike (1A). Sterling Point, Folsom Lake   Cancelled

 We will hike approximately three miles with 200 to 300 feet of elevation gain. There are options to make the hike shorter or longer, but most of the route will be more-or-less flat. We will see nesting bald eagles, historic rock structures, and great views. Binoculars will enhance the experience. Bring water, snacks or lunch. Meet at Burger King on Lincoln Way at 9:30. We’ll hike a 4 to 5 mile loop on several of the trails at the Weimar Institute. Bring lunch, water and essentials. No dogs. Rain cancels.
