American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has been at the forefront of a wide range of suicide prevention initiatives in 2006 -- each designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. Information on this site includes frequently asked questions, suicide statistics, warning signs, and surviving suicide loss.
Suicide Prevention Advocacy Network (SPAN)
SPAN USA accomplishes its mission through SPAN USA Affiliates and volunteer organizers of all ages who work to promote and advance suicide prevention. Community Organizers work to raise awareness about suicide in their communities and communicate with their local, state and federal policy makers to advocate for suicide prevention.
Network of Care for Mental/Behavioral Health
Network of Care is a highly interactive, single information place where consumers, community-based organizations and municipal government workers all can go to easily access a wide variety of important information. The resources in this "virtual community" include a fast, comprehensive Service Directory; links to pertinent Web sites from across the nation; a comprehensive, easy-to-use Library; a political advocacy tool; community message boards; and many others. The Network of Care includes sections on Seniors & People with Disabilities, Mental/Behavioral Health, Kids (ages 0-5), Children and Families (ages 0-18), and Developmental Disabilities.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) website provides
information from the Federal agency that conducts and supports research
on mental illnesses. The site also has information on suicide prevention.

Mental Health Information Center (NMHIC)
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) National Mental Health Information Center provides information about mental health via a toll-free telephone number (800-789-2647), this web site, and more than 600 publications. It was developed for users of mental health services and their families, the general public, policy makers, providers, and the media. It also provides a link to the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, which represents the combined work of advocates, clinicians, researchers and survivors around the nationthat lays out a framework for action to prevent suicide and guides development of an array of services and programs that must be developed.
The Jed Foundation is the nation’s leading organization working to prevent suicide and promote mental health among college students. The Jed Foundation is guided by an expert board of mental health professionals in an effort to identify the underlying causes of suicide and produce effective prevention, awareness and intervention programs.
