YC PAWS Mission Statement and Desired Outcomes:

YC PAWS Mission Statement:

The Yolo County Pet Animal Welfare Society (YC PAWS) seeks to change our municipal shelter to a model that is a sustainable and
progressive leader in animal sheltering.

YC PAWS Desired Outcomes:

Decrease the number of animals entering the shelter and increase the number of live releases, while simultaneously improving the health
and welfare of the animals housed within. Specifically:

Owner Redemptions

Adoptions

Responsible rescues and fostering

Spaying and neutering

Licensing and microchipping

Volunteerism

Transparency

Fiscal Responsibility

Education/Outreach

Decrease:

Kill Rate

Stray holding time

Negative community perceptions

Feral Cat Holds

Physical stressors

Behavioral stressors

Illness and Infectious disease
