PURPOSE OF PTA

Parents at Davis High School are important participants in the life of the school.  As active members of the PTA and as boosters for the wonderful teams, performance groups and clubs at DHS, the DHS community thrives because of the leadership and dedication of the parent community.

DHS PTA is a unit of the National PTA organization.  Involving parents and advocating for all school children is the core of its mission.  DHS PTA values parent involvement in whatever way it is offered. Whether it be through serving on the PTA or answering a call for volunteers, through donations to the PTA or contributions through scrip, or though cheering at a game or clapping at a concert, we appreciate your contribution.  The PTA welcomes all to its monthly meetings, held on the first Wednesday of September, October, November, January, February, March, April and May, at 7:30 in the DHS library.

DHS PTA depends on direct donations from DHS families during its membership drive. Membership is $15 and additional donations are accepted at any amount.  The donations received are used to fund teacher and staff requests for classroom supplies, school activities, field trips and professional development.  DHS PTA also gladly accepts donations through scrip programs from families that are not directing their donations to their sports, music or club groups.

At DHS, one of the PTA’s most important functions is operate communication channels for the school.  The PTA maintains separate listservs for the Student Daily Bulletin, schoolwide announcements, and class level announcements.  The PTA also publishes a monthly newsletter and maintains this website.
