Events and Dates for you and your Senior
In order to help you plan for this exciting, and busy, time of year, we are sending you this announcement as a reminder about some of the important dates and events we have coming up for you and your senior.
Senior trip: Thursday, 30 May -Saturday, June 1 – (a detailed itinerary has been sent home with your senior in their trip approval packet). Please note: all luggage taken on the trip must be dropped off by Wednesday 29 May by 4 o’clock to room 18 (Mr Bell’s room). Please note: seniors need to maintain strong grades, positive attendance, and have no discipline issues, as detailed in their senior trip contracts, in order to attend this year’s senior trip.
Laptop/Book/Equipment check-in: Thursday 23 May – Wednesday 29 May: any and all fines, book issues, laptops, and chargers must be returned/cleared up by Wednesday. The Office/Library/Tech Department must issue you a clearance prior to your being allowed on the bus for the senior trip. Please note: school Echo and Gmail accounts will be deactivated by the end of June.
Senior Dessert Social Potluck: Thursday, 16 May at 6 :30-8:00pm on the DV campus. We will use the picnic tables around campus and families can bring picnic blankets. A SignUp Genius has been set up for this event.
Senior awards night: Tuesday, 04 June – the show begins at 7pm. All Da Vinci seniors will honoured at this event. This is a chance for the senior community and staff to pull together for an evening of reflection, awards, and laughter. Due to seating limitations, we ask that only immediate members of senior families attend this event. Dessert will be served.
Graduation: Thursday, June 6th @ 7pm – Seniors will meet in Central Park by 12:35pm. Seniors will receive a Booster provided lunch, their sophomore/senior letters, and instructions for the day. We will walk them over to Freeborn Hall at approximately 1:15 to begin graduation practice. Students should be released around 3:00 or 3:30, and need to return by 6:00. Families may take photos of students from 6:00-6:30. Seniors will line up at 6:30 for inspection and instruction; families find their seats at this time. Seniors will make their entrance at 6:58, with the welcome speech beginning promptly at 7:00.
Tickets will be available for all families, with each receiving an initial allotment of 10 tickets. Tanya Geisler is the ticket coordinator if you require more, or if you have extra that you are willing to donate to another family. She will provide graduation ticket distribution instructions shortly.
Diplomas will be available for pick up Monday, 10 June between 8-3pm. Diplomas and transcripts will be released only if all books and equipment have been returned, and any outstanding fines have been paid.
Da Vinci summer school begins Monday, 10 June -Friday, 28 June – Those in need of summer school options (DV or DSHS) should contact Ms. Curinga for details and an application.
Final Transcripts – Counselors will be talking with students towards the end of May regarding instructions for final transcripts.
