Kari Peterson's Bio
An introduction to Kari Peterson, who is helping local nonprofits to create a strategic communications plan and to choose tools during the DCN Internet Toolkit pilot. She is the primary communication contact for all of the nonprofits involved.
Background and credentials.
I have worked in the field of community media most of my
professional life. I am now working as a consultant, helping
media organizations and nonprofits realize the benefits of new
web-based applications and services. I have long been associated
with Davis Community Network, helping found it way back when (along
with Vicki Suter in 1993) and serving as its first president.
I've been working with DCN over the last three years as we evolve to
serve nonprofits in this amazingly dynamic and exciting time.
DCN's Nonprofit Internet Toolkit is a very cutting
edge effort that will serve as a model for other organizations who
assist and support nonprofits with their communication needs. I'm
thrilled to be a part of it, and to share with my colleagues nationally
what we are developing here (and vice versa, of course).
My favorite site for nonprofit technology assistance is NTEN -- the
