Go Lithuania !

A Fordham University Global Outreach (Go Lithuania) group of ten students will be making its second trip to the Auksuciai Farm and Forest Center (AUMC) located near Kursenai, Lithuania in late May. As last year, the group will work on projects, including improvements to the farm headquarters building, planting crops, landscaping the grounds and making preparations for the annual small farmers Field Day. The Go Team will also be engaged in cultural outreach activities at the farm with Siauliai Boy Scouts and university students from Siauliai and Kaunas.

Related activities include work with two orphanages in the Siauliai area with the potential of hosting some of the children at the farm. The team again plans to have dinner and work with a close by farm family that sponsors fifteen foster children.

Fordham University’s Go Lithuania is funded from an Endowment Scholarship established at the University by A. Richard Juelis of Walnut Creek, California. Juelis is an alumnus of the university and is a second generation Lithuanian American. He is currently an Advisor to AUMC and also recently served as a member of the board of directors of the Auksuciai Foundation, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit corporation headquartered in Burlingame, California. In cooperation with the Lithuanian non-profit public institution (AUMC) it provides major funding for a program helping small scale Lithuanian farmers improve their economic status.

The Auksuciai Foundation is located at 2907 Frontera Way, Burlingame, California 94010.
