Biography
MELISSA WOOD received her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis. Her exhibition venues include the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, The Collectors Gallery at the Oakland Museum of California, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artists Gallery, Anchorage Museum of History and Art and the Crocker Art Museum.
She was awarded a 2003 residency at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco including exhibitions and demonstrations of her work at the de Young Art Center and the Legion of Honor and was awarded a 2000 ArtReach grant by the Richard L. Nelson Gallery, UC Davis, NELSON ARTfriends.
Wood’s work was chosen in 2005 by the Bolinas Art Museum for a survey of modern abstract art and for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artists Gallery 2005 Photography survey. Her work was also chosen for "The Crocker-Kingsley Biennial" Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento.
