Central Park Gardens will host its sixth annual Open House and Plant Sale on Saturday, October 27th from 9 am to 1 pm in conjunction with the Davis Farmers Market Fall Festival.
Although a plant sale is a part of every open house, this year’s will be exceptional with unique plant varieties of vegetables, and annual and perennial flowers.
Other event highlights include Master Gardener information booths with eco-friendly and water-saving gardening advice, and information about least toxic pest control from the City of Davis. For young gardeners, Davis Farm to School Connection will be there with a newspaper pot seed-planting activity next to the Bellapede sculpture.
Fall is a great time for planting, and the plant sale of fall vegetables, flowers, herbs, bulbs, and natives will raise much needed funds to benefit garden maintenance.
Central Park Gardens is a volunteer-managed demonstration garden located in Davis Central Park along B Street between 3rd and 4th Streets in downtown Davis. The garden features a variety of themed plantings that demonstrate environmentally-friendly plant choices and gardening practices. For more information, visit www.centralparkgardens.org.
