Sunrise Rotary Builds New Fence Along Meadow
On a beautiful sunny Saturday morning, March 8th, over fifteen
volunteers from the Davis Sunrise
Rotary Club helped build a new wood fence along B Street in Central
Park. Led by Community Service Chair Chuck Snipes and experienced
carpenter Rick Stromberg and powered by volunteer tools and labor, the
project was completed without a hitch. The 80-foot-long post and rail
fence gives a crisp new border to the recent Central Park Gardens
meadow plantings and will help protect the garden from trampling.
The new fence is part of a larger community service project that the
Sunrise Rotary Club has adopted in Central Park. The club will also be
funding and building another garden fence north of the Teen Center and
will be contributing to the outfitting of a garden tool shed this
spring. These improvements are part of the ongoing community effort to
renovate the Central Park Gardens. Thank you to all of the
Sunrise Rotary volunteers for their hard work!
