Sunrise Rotary builds new fence for Rose & Flower Garden
After completing a fence on the west side of our Meadow Garden in
March, volunteers from the Davis
Sunrise Rotary Club came back in April to build us another fence
for the Rose & Flower Garden. This garden borders a major
bike and pedestrian corridor, and sturdy protection from heavy bike and
foot traffic was essential. The fence helps us beautifully
protect our new plantings, including the spectacular Tower of
Jewels. Thank you to the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club for providing
the funding and volunteer labor to complete this project. Special
thanks to Community Service Chair Chuck Snipes and expert carpenter
Rick Stromberg for leading the project!
In addition to funding two fence projects, the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club has also generously provided us with almost $1800 in funding for the purchase of garden tools for our volunteers. We greatly appreciate this service club's support for the gardens.
