Please join our Volunteer Orientation Day!
A UC Davis student volunteer helps plant the Central Park Gardens meadow. Central Park Gardens welcomes gardeners of all ages.
Do you like gardening? Are you looking for opportunities to give back to the community? Davis Central Park Gardens (CPG) is putting together its first ever Volunteer Orientation Day on Saturday, May 3rd from 10 am to noon in the gardens. A perfect opportunity to join the center of activity in town, the orientation day is a chance to see how fun, easy, and helpful gardening in Central Park can be. You will also be just steps away from the lively Farmers Market.
Central Park Gardens is a completely volunteer developed and run organization. Volunteers work to create inspiring demonstration gardens and engaging educational programs. These community resources aim to motivate home gardeners in the region to adopt more sustainable gardening practices. Our dedicated volunteers come together to care for the gardens and in the process have lots of fun, meet like-minded people, learn more about gardening themselves, as well as have the joy of contributing to a community treasure. The more volunteers who are able to participate in the gardens, the lovelier our community treasure will become.
The orientation day event is the best way to be introduced to the gardens – its mission, team and opportunities. You will have the opportunity to tour the gardens and get to know some very experienced and helpful CPG members. If you’ve had an interest in the gardens, come give volunteering a try and help make our community gardens even more breathtaking.
Please RSVP to centralparkgardens@gmail.com by Wednesday, April 30, 2014 . Light refreshments will be served!
