Spider-Man has been around a long time. In 1962, ten years after Charlotte's Web was published, he first appeared in the famous Issue 15 of the comic book Amazing Fantasy. Since then he has appeared in numerous comics and books, a TV cartoon show, and four blockbuster live-action (sort of) movies.

What inspiration can you, the writer, get from Spider-Man? If you know his history, you know that the claimed "scientific" explanations and descriptions of his amazing powers grew ever more detailed over the years. In the current movie they are amazingly convincing--though occasionally false--science.

Would anyone care to write about which claims are actually good science?
