DHS Madrigal Singers

The Davis High School Madrigals are an auditioned group of 32 high school sophomores, juniors and seniors from Davis, California, USA who perform a wide variety of music dating from the 15th century to the present. Formed in 1966, this highly accomplished class demands the best of these young musicians’ talents. Each Madrigal designs their own costume interpreting the dress of the upper class of late 15th through mid-16th century England.

During each school year, they perform in school concerts, community events, private parties and music festivals. Each December, they preside over the Madrigal Dinner; a 16th century holiday feast that is one of Davis' longest-running musical traditions.

MESSAGE FROM THE MADRIGAL PARENTS GROUP

The 2009-2010 Davis High School Madrigls have an exciting year ahead!!!  They will perform at many concerts, the annual Madrigal Dinner in December, and at community events throughout the year.  They will finish their year as ambassadors of Davis, delighting audiences as they perform their award winning chamber music and traditional masses in many of the most famous and majestic halls and cathedrals of Europe.  The tour begins in June and includes St. Mark's Basilica, St. Peter's Basiclica, the Sistine Chapel and other concerts yet to be announced.

We so apprciate the support that you, as a friend of the Madrigals, have given this choir over the years.  Our task this year, as the parents of this choir, is grand!!!  In order to fund the choir in all of their activities as well as make it possible for every member of this group to travel to Europe, we have a fun and event-filled year planned!!!

We invite you to join us, come see old friends, make new friends and enjoy the beautiful music and gorgeous costumes of the Renaissance.  One thing is certain:  we are all bonded by the talent and music of this phenomenal choir.

Watch the Events Page of this website for continual updates on Performances, Events and Fundraisers throughout the year
