New Executive Director Appointed

January 7, 2011 - Yolo CASA welcomes Tracy Fauver

Tracy Fauver has been appointed as the new executive director of Yolo County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).  The announcement was made by Mila Spengler, president of the Board of Directors, who noted “Tracy brings her integrity and commitment to the Yolo CASA organization, as well as her strong ties to the community.  She will further develop our solid base of volunteer advocates, community collaborations, and donor support. We have high expectations of what Tracy will accomplish; and we eagerly welcome her to CASA.”

Fauver previously served as outreach worker and advocate for the Family Transitional Housing Program at Davis Community Meals, providing support to homeless families as they work to regain their independence.  She received her master's degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Fauver volunteered for three years as a CASA for Yolo foster youth; “I witnessed firsthand the positive impact that an advocate can have on a child's future.  I feel strongly that this work represents a vital aspect of a community taking care of its own.   The staff, volunteers and board have worked countless hours and with great passion to ensure that Yolo CASA's commitment to foster children continues.  It is a profound honor for me to join them in their mission.”

Fauver is married to Alborz Alali, an oncologist at the Woodland Clinic, and mother of two daughters ages 13 and 10.  She volunteers as a soccer coach.

Fauver joins Pam Nardinelli and Jill Davis on the Yolo CASA staff.  Spengler credited Nardinelli, coordinator of outreach and recruitment, and case supervisor Davis for helping to stabilize the organization during a difficult period of transition. “Their calm, dedication and efforts kept the organization always focused on serving children.”

The mission of Yolo CASA is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected foster youth within the court system. Based on the belief that every child is entitled to a safe and supportive home, CASA works through trained volunteers in collaboration with key agencies, legal counsel, and community resources to serve as the child’s advocate in the Yolo County Juvenile Court System.
