As an organization funded through donations and grants, Yolo CASA is grateful for this support that recognizes the importance of individual advocates for foster youth.
Designated by the Hallmark Inn in Davis as beneficiary of its “Hotels That Help” initiative, Yolo CASA has received more than $2,000 since the campaign kicked off. Hotel guests have the opportunity to participate in this voluntary program by allowing a $1 per night donation to be applied to their folio. The Youmans Family, owners of the hotel, took the program one step further and pledged $1 for every room night occupied during the month of December.
Soroptimists International of Davis, an organization to inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls, awarded Yolo CASA a $1,000 service grant in February.
The University of California, Davis chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta designates Yolo CASA recipient of their philanthropic efforts, including the community-wide “Rock the CASA” annual event. The sorority provided a $4,000 grant in January.
First Northern Bank of Dixon also contributed very generously in support of Yolo CASA’s work in the community.
The mission of Yolo CASA is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected foster youth within the court system. Based on the belief that every child is entitled to a safe and supportive home, CASA works through trained volunteers in collaboration with key agencies, legal counsel, and community resources to serve as the child’s advocate in the Yolo County Juvenile Court System.
The organization will host its popular Cherish-A-Child Dinner and Auction on Saturday, May 14. To learn more, call (530)661-4200.
