Browsing at a Sacramento post card show not long ago, I happened upon two unusual postcards that I purchased and reproduce here for the interest of Davis history buffs.

The pictures on the cards are of the "unemployed army" in Davis on Wednesday, March 18, 1914.

This unit of that army consisted of some 200 men who have vowed to "march" from the west coast to Washington, D. C. in order to demand jobs.

This episode in Davis on that day is reported in detail in the Davis Enterprise and other newspapers of the time and is a very dramatic story.

The reverse sides of the cards are reproduced in the next news item.

I hope soon to report more on this unique Davis event.
