Hike (1A). Lake Clementine Trail
We will walk along a mostly level trail paralleling North Fork of American River from the Confluence to Lake Clementine Dam, approx. 5 miles. We will eat lunch as we watch the water spill over the dam. Bring lunch, water, and $ for parking or state parking pass. Meet at 9:00 am at the Confluence Area, off Hwy 49 in Auburn, by shade shelter just before OLD (low) Foresthill Bridge. No dogs. Rain cancels. Museum Tour (1A). Yountville and CIA Copia, Napa Valley
We’ll visit the Napa Valley Museum at Yountville to view Modern Women/Modern Vision, photos by some of the leading 20th and 21st century women photographers. Included are photos by Margaret Bourke-White, Dorothea Lange and Barbara Morgan. Admission is $10.00 for Seniors 65 and above and $15.00 for adults. Admission includes an audio tour. Afterward we’ll have lunch at the Oxbow Market in Napa, then go next door to CIA Copia to see the “Photographic Journey of Paul and Julia Child”, a free exhibit also from the collection of the Napa Valley Museum. These beautiful photos by Paul Child, often featuring Julia, where taken in France in the late 1940’s and 50’s. At the end of this exhibit viewers may write their own “Recipe for Happiness” on a card and add it to the gallery wall below Julia’s Recipe. Meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Marketplace Shopping Center, at the corner of Sycamore Lane and West Covell Blvd., exit 29 off Hwy. 113, in Davis. We will gather in the lot by the south entrance, off Covell Blvd., by the Marketplace sign-cube. Have admission fee and $ for driver. Bring lunch or plan to buy all or part of your lunch from the many shops and restaurants at the Oxbow. (Lunch entrees are about $15.00, beverages about $3.50). Limited to 10 participants. Hike (2A). El Dorado Trail in Placerville (Location changed from Jenkinson Lake due to snow)
