Hike 1(A). Sugar Pine

Enjoy a pleasant stroll of approx. 4 – 5 miles around Sugar Pine Reservoir. Hike (2A).  Scotts Lake (Yolano Group)

From south of Lake Tahoe, we climb past Big Meadow, up a gentle canyon and over a low ridge to Scotts Lake.  The lake itself is mundane, but the trek to it is special. With luck we’ll enjoy the spectacular fall coloring of the many aspen groves as well as pretty vistas.  We then retrace our route back to cars.  The hike is approximately 7 miles with 700’ cumulative elevation gain.  Bring lunch, water, and essentials.  Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the McDonalds on Broadway in Placerville (Broadway exit off Hwy 50 past signals).  No dogs. Rain cancels.
