Hike (2B). Hidden Falls Regional Park
This 8-mile loop will take us on both sides of Coon Creek on mostly easy wide trails, and back to the falls before heading back uphill to our cars. Bring lunch, water and essentials. Hike (1A). Grizzly Bear House, Forest Hill Divide Loop Cancelled due to rain
We will find the location of Grizzly Bear House, a gold rush era stagecoach stop. Then we will hike a portion of the Forest Hill Divide Loop to a spur trail which overlooks the Middle Fork of the American River for lunch. This out-and-back hike is short, about 4 miles total, with views of oak woodlands and canyons. Some ups and downs, not much elevation gain. Meet at 10:00 a.m. in the upper lot at McDonalds on Lincoln Way, Foresthill exit off I-80 in Auburn. Bring lunch, water and $ for state parking fee. No dogs. Rain cancels. Hike (1A). Quarry Trail to Murderer’s Bar
Join us for a pleasant hike along the Middle Fork of the American River below Auburn. The hike is about 6 miles with a short climb up into the abandoned quarry on the way back. Bring lunch, water, essentials, and $ for state parking fee. Meet at Burger King, on Lincoln way at Foresthill Exit off I-80 at 9:30 a.m. or Quarry parking lot at 9:45 a.m. No dogs. Rain cancels.
