Hike (2B). Murderers Bar, Auburn SRA
This loop begins with a pleasant stroll along the Middle Fork American River, then climbs up past the quarry to join the Olmstead Loop trail and Pointed Rocks, only to drop rapidly back down Training Hill and Western States Trail to the cars. The hike is approximately 7 miles with 1100’ cumulative elevation gain. Bring lunch, water, good boots, and essentials. Hike (1B). Hidden Falls Regional Park
This 5 to 6 mile hike will cross both Coon and Deadman Creeks, taking us along the Otter loop trail in the newer part of the park, and back to the falls for lunch before heading back uphill to our cars. Bring lunch, water and essentials. No dogs. Heavy rain cancels. Hike (2B). Mitchell Canyon, Mt. Diablo (Yolano Group)
On the north side of Mt. Diablo outside Clayton we will climb up Mitchell Canyon to Deer Flat and return by Meridian Ridge Road and Back Creek Canyon. Experience breathtaking views. The hike is approximately 8 miles with an elevation gain of about 1500’. Truly breathtaking. Bring lunch, water, and essentials, and be prepared for possible mud.
