Hike (1A) Pioneer Trail
On this hike we’ll head east from Lang’s Crossing to have lunch at Lake Spaulding. The big-leaf maples make this a colorful autumn walk. About 5.8 miles with a total 880 ft. elevation gain. Bring lunch, water and essentials. No dogs. Heavy rain cancels. Meet at Burger King, on Lincoln Way at Foresthill Exit off I-80 in Auburn at 9:00 am.

Hike (2B) Judge Davis Trail, Cache Creek region (Yolano Group)
Explore the ridges and canyons of the Cache Creek area of the new Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument. From west of Clear Lake we climb over a picturesque ridge and then drop (way) down to Cache Creek. After a peaceful, secluded lunch we retrace our route up and over the Cache Creek Ridge. The hike is approximately 10 miles with 1700’ cumulative elevation gain. Bring lunch, water, and essentials. Meet at 9:00 am at the Guinda post office on Hwy 16 in Capay Valley west of Woodland. No dogs. Rain cancels.

Hike (1A) American Canyon, Dead Truck, WST Loop
This is a nice approx. 5-mile loop, with an elevation loss/gain of about 900 ft. These heavily forested trails offer a different feel than other hikes in the canyons around Auburn, and offer occasional brief views of the Middle Fork American River. We’ll make a few creek crossings and a gold rush site along our route. Bring lunch, water and essentials. No dogs. Rain cancels. Meet in Auburn at Burger King, on Lincoln Way at Foresthill Exit off I-80 at 9:30 am.

Hike (2B) Diablo Falls, Mt. Diablo
Explore canyons and cliffs on the east face of Mt. Diablo. We climb up Back Canyon, wind around to the Falls Trail, work our way up to and across the falls, and then return down Donner Canyon. Round trip is about 7.5 miles with 1600’ elevation gain. Bring lunch, water and essentials. Meet at 8:30 am at the Davis Park and Ride behind Ikedas Fruit Stand off I-80 at Mace Blvd in Davis. No dogs. Rain cancels.

Hike (1A) Greenwood Creek
Pretty, approx. 4-mile fairly level loop hike along the South Fork American River. We’ll spend some time alongside and overlooking the South Fork. Plan on a long lunch break by the river. This short hike has it all, views, sandy beach, rocky beach, forested trails, open meadow, sun, & shade. Bring lunch, water and essentials. No dogs. Rain cancels.
