Day Hike (1A). Tinker’s Cut Off, Manzanita and Stagecoach Loop - Canyon Keepers Hike

 

We’ll make a 4-5 mile loop using the narrow, steep but short Tinker’s Cut Off to Stagecoach and then Manzanita as our uphill route.  This is a moderate but steady uphill with some narrow, rutted sections.  We will enjoy the views of the American River on the wide, moderate grade of the historic Stagecoach Trail, dating from the 1850’s, on the way down.  Bring snack, water, and essentials.  Meet at 9:30 a.m. at Burger King on Lincoln Way in Auburn at Foresthill Exit off I-80 or by the shade shelter at Confluence Area at 9:45 a.m. No dogs.  Rain cancels. Wednesday, February 24

Snowshoe Hike 1A

 

We’ll snowshoe either at China Wall, past Foresthill, or somewhere along the I-80 corridor, depending on snow conditions.   Bring $ for Snow park pass, if required, at site chosen.  Bring essentials, snowshoes, poles, lunch, water, and dress in layers.  Meet at 9:30 am at Burger King on Lincoln Way in Auburn at Foresthill Exit off I-80.  No dogs.  Winter Storm warnings or chain controls cancels.  Hike will be substituted if no or insufficient snow. Saturday, February 27 - Hike changed to Zim Zim Falls from Fiske Peak, per Leader Jim Cramer

Hike (2A), Zim Zim Falls (Yolano Group)

Take advantage of El Niño's rains by hiking to Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument's Zim Zim waterfall. The hike is a moderate 7 mile out and back amble up pretty Zim Zim canyon to the 100ft+ cascade. Be prepared to get your feet wet with 8 creek crossings on the way to the falls.
